Are you passionate about our oceans?

Are you keen to travel to promote ocean sustainability?

If you would you like to:

  • work on exciting projects to help shape the future of the world’s oceans
  • work with great people in a professional but creative and informal working environment where you can make a real impact on our oceans and the lives of the fishers who work in them

this may be the role for you!

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with a background in a sustainability or environmental discipline, or in an area with relevance to  our operational processes or systems.

You will also have:

  • A good knowledge of fisheries science and management; experience of marine ecology or marine conservation in Italy is highly desirable;
  • practical experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects linked to fisheries.
  • the ability to ‘sell’ and promote the value of the MSC’s fisheries certification program; and
  •  be a team player and have strong project planning, organisation and time management skills.

We look forward to hearing from you!

We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.

The remaining time can be worked from home. During the onboarding process, hybrid work may require more office work than remote work.

The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations.  Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded in the marketplace, through the leadership of our partners.  Over 670 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries.

The MSC is committed to the principles of equality and fairness and we welcome applications from all communities. We do not discriminate on the grounds of age, ethnicity, race, colour, religion or belief, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.  If you consider yourself to have a disability and need reasonable adjustments made during the recruitment and selection process, please let us know how we can help you.
