If so, this Fisheries Outreach Manager role in Alaska could be the opportunity for you!

Join the MSC team, a diverse group of talented ocean and seafood enthusiasts, as we work to safeguard seafood for the future. As a dynamic and influential team member, this role contributes to MSC’s US fisheries strategy with goals of driving value to our existing fishery partners and working to expand the reach of the MSC program strategically.

You will lead outreach with fisheries stakeholders in Alaska. Whilst regionally based, this role offers the opportunity to gain experience working with global teams, fisheries, and supply chains.

The Fisheries Outreach Manager, Alaska will support and strengthen engagement with Alaskan fisheries as part of the broader US Outreach team.

You will be responsible for the management and retention of existing partners, expansion of the program with interested fisheries in the region, and working with the team to drive a strengthened value proposition for certified fisheries. This role will develop and deliver value to partners in a consistent and coordinated fashion, with enhanced and timely MSC-related communications and education to all fisheries, client representatives, member companies, and other interested parties. You will be responsible for working with the team to facilitate successful and transformative work with partners, and driving growth and development with new and potential partners in Alaska.

While this position will ideally work remotely from Juneau or Anchorage, Alaska, there are flexible working options available to the successful candidate.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience working in capture fisheries management, research, policy, regulatory management, and/or operations
  • Understand resource sustainability issues, specifically the fisheries and seafood industry in Alaska
  • Have a partner-focused approach that is results-oriented and built on a foundation of relationship development
  • Have the ability to support and foster a collaborative team environment where ideas, strategies, projects, and asks-for-help can be shared openly among the team.

An existing familiarity with the MSC Fishery Standard and Chain of Custody Standard will be a definite advantage.
