If you are keen to promote ocean sustainability and can represent the MSC program and engage others to support, it - this may be the role for you!

Under the supervision of the Senior Fisheries Outreach Manager, you’ll be responsible for promoting and increasing awareness and support for the MSC program across fisheries in France and engaging new potential fisheries in the program while maintaining effective relationships with existing ones.

You will also be responsible for implementing and delivering activities in the final phase of Project Medfish with French fisheries in the Mediterranean and working on building a follow up in the area.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with a background in a sustainability or environmental discipline, or in an area of relevance to our operational processes or systems.

You will also have:

  • a good knowledge of fisheries science and management; experience of marine ecology or marine conservation in France is highly desirable
  • practical experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects linked to fisheries
  • the ability to ‘sell’ and promote the value of the MSC’s fisheries certification program
  • strong project planning skills
  • fluent spoken and written French and English.

If this has inspired you, please apply here!

We look forward to hearing from you!

We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. The successful candidate will need to work from the Paris office for a minimum of 50% of their working time each month. The remaining time can be worked from home. During the onboarding process, hybrid work may require more office work than remote work.

The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations.  Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded in the marketplace, through the leadership of our partners.  Over 670 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries.

The MSC is committed to the principles of equality and fairness and we welcome applications from all communities. We do not discriminate on the grounds of age, ethnicity, race, colour, religion or belief, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.  If you consider yourself to have a disability and need reasonable adjustments made during the recruitment and selection process, please let us know how we can help you.
