The Vacancy
Do you want to lead on reshaping a Mass Emailing Service for the MSC that turns complex messaging systems into seamless user experiences?
Can you balance diverse marketing and non-marketing business demands, technical opportunities, and regulatory constraints?
If you’re great at seeing an opportunity to help others and translating business frustrations and challenges into technology solutions, then this could be the opportunity for you.
This fixed-term role (24 months) will be responsible for leading the discovery and delivery of a new Mass Emailing Service, a project that is core to our Technology and Data Strategy. The MSC is looking for a new tool that supports both marketing and non-marketing teams with mass campaigns and mail outs.
You will take ownership from functional requirements gathering and product selection, through to successful implementation and go-live, ensuring the solution meets both operational needs and strategic objectives.
Once the Mass Emailing Service is delivered, you'll also take on the ongoing development and optimisation of one or two other key business platforms, depending on your previous experience.
This role would work as part of a team of other Business Systems Managers within our Technology & Data team, responsible for a diverse suite of IT systems supporting internal staff and external stakeholders.
The tools you build here will help us tell the story of sustainable fisheries to millions of people worldwide, and keep our certified partners and supporters engaged in safeguarding the future of the world's oceans.
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working with Mass Emailing Services and processes, or has supported similar system transition projects
Is confident working independently and managing delivery timelines within wider business and technology priorities
Understands how to measure success and ensure system changes deliver real value
Has strong experience working in a Microsoft environment, including Office 365 and SharePoint
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone with a few years' experience who is looking to grow their career in business systems and product ownership.

Working at the MSC
The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations. Today, the impacts of overfishing and climate change pose an even greater threat to the ocean and fish stocks. Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded throughout the seafood supply chain. Over 700 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries. Through partnerships and collective endeavour, we are on a mission to end overfishing.
