The Vacancy

Are you an experienced commercial leader in the seafood sector who thrives on working collaboratively and knows how to turn strategy into impact?

If so, we’re looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our experienced Latin America team and lead on the delivery of MSC’s fisheries objectives across the Latin America Program.

This is an opportunity to bring your commercial expertise in export and national seafood markets, relationship-building skills and collaborative leadership to a role with real purpose, helping strengthen and retain sustainable fisheries while contributing to the long-term impact of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) across the region.

In this role:

  • You will lead strategic outreach across the supply chain and export market sector, promoting the MSC brand and increasing support for the program across a diverse range of stakeholders and B2B partners.
  • You’ll also play an important role in the MSC’s communications activities in the Latin America Program, helping to build in-country consumer awareness, and bringing the MSC mission to life for new and existing audiences.
  • Proven experience in the seafood commercial and marketing sector in Latin America, with an established network of contacts.
  • Knowledge of the seafood markets in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and/or Mexico would be an advantage.
  • Strong B2B experience with a track record of building and managing relationships with partners in the seafood supply chain.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in related fields; additional training or qualifications in marketing would be an advantage.
  • A strong understanding of third-party certification systems.
  • Knowledge of chain of custody standards; with familiarity with the MSC chain of custody standard considered an advantage.

Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded throughout the seafood supply chain. Over 700 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries. Through partnerships and collective endeavour, we are on a mission to end overfishing.
